our demands

1. Tell The Truth: The Irish Government and media must adequately inform the public of the climate and ecological emergencies and communicate the urgency for change and the consequences of not doing so.

2. Act Now: The Irish Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2030, while reversing all policies not in alignment with that position.

3. Ensure a Just Transition: All policy changes must be in keeping with the ideas of a just transition, where the most vulnerable are not expected to sacrifice the most. This just transition must be made within a global context and ensure that profits are not placed before our planet.

Animal Rebellion believes that for these demands to be met, they must each comprehensively address the impact of the animal farming and fishing industries, and the need for a just and sustainable plant-based food system.

non-violent direct action (Nvda)

Non-Violent Direct Action is at the heart of what Animal Rebellion does. This core training is fundamental for all rebels thinking of attending our actions, though these are universal principles that strengthen the efficacy of any protest. We hold training sessions for any new rebels who wish to take part and will update our website with any information regarding these sessions.

anti-
speciesism

Speciesism is a prejudice or attitude of bias in favour of the interests of members of one's own species, and against those of members of other species. Speciesist systems are a major contributor to the climate  and biodiversity emergency. Speciesism is deeply entrenched in every aspect of our civilization, from language and the media to the food system that is destroying our planet whilst oppressing human and non-human animals.
