our Mission

1. Tell The Truth: The Irish Government and media must adequately and honestly inform the public of the ways in which animal agriculture and fishing are contributing to the ecological emergency and communicate the urgent need to transition to a plant-based food system.

2. Act Now: The Irish Government must act immediately
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and halt biodiversity loss, by putting in appropriate policies to start the transformation of Irish agriculture away from animal farming and fishing and towards a diverse, plant-based
food system.

3. Ensure a Just Transition: Ensure economic and social justice for everyone who will be impacted by the transition to a plant-based food system and the eventual end of animal agriculture and fishing, including, but not limited to, farmers and workers in the food industries. Animal Rebellion Ireland stands in solidarity with other Irish groups and movements working to secure economic and social justice for all Irish and global citizens.

Animal Rebellion believes that for these demands to be met, they must each comprehensively address the impact of the animal farming and fishing industries, and the need for a just and sustainable plant-based food system.

non-violent direct action (Nvda)

Non-Violent Direct Action is at the heart of what Animal Rebellion does. This core training is fundamental for all rebels thinking of attending our actions, though these are universal principles that strengthen the efficacy of any protest. We hold training sessions for any new rebels who wish to take part and will update our website with any information regarding these sessions.

anti-
speciesism

Speciesism is a prejudice or attitude of bias in favour of the interests of members of one's own species, and against those of members of other species. Speciesist systems are a major contributor to the climate  and biodiversity emergency. Speciesism is deeply entrenched in every aspect of our civilization, from language and the media to the food system that is destroying our planet whilst oppressing human and non-human animals.
